Please feel free to ask questions or ask for advice regarding the racing rules and other pertinent rules or regulations. If I cannot answer myself, I can usually find someone who can.
There will be several rule changes from 1st Jan 2017, including changes to Appendix E Radio Sailing. I will try and post details here.

Excellent idea. I was DSQ for one race in Valenciennes in France at the start which was a new one on me now... need to find the RRS no.

Interesting as I was DSQ for breaching 16.1 at the start. What I was surprised is that though we both fundamentally discribed different place where we touched the jury focussed on the timing of the contact at the start.
I was clear astern but to weather of the other boat. both on stb pointing at the starting mark to leave to port. with 10 secs or so to go seeing he was closing the door on my I bore off to sailed to his leeward and gained an engagement. with the speed gained I sailed ahead of him (not sure if he was engage to my weather ) Starting gun goes I luff to be closed hauled and he T boned me. That i am sure despite him telling otherwise.
Any views, question Gordon?
Also was told i had no right to luff him up as I had gained my overlap to his leeward from astern but too close to luff him and closed the door. He argued I pushed him on the mark. Yes he touched the mark cos I went right by it as he T boned me.
